Workshop Topics

All workshops are based on Kara’s book, The Talent Trifecta: An Executive’s Guide to Attracting, Selecting, and Retaining the Right Talent.

Workshop participants connect the three parts of the Talent Trifecta—Attraction, Selection, and Retention—for their organization. It all starts at the end, with calculating turnover costs and identifying the impact improved talent strategies will have on profitability. Then, by completing the Talent Trifecta Self-Assessment, participants will identify and develop plans to address retention challenges through strategic attraction and selection approaches.

An organization’s Unique Value Proposition (UVP) identifies the parts of its Employee Value Proposition that are most attractive to the external talent it wants to attract. In this workshop, Kara teaches participants the four steps to discovering and capturing your organization’s UVP. Once you know your UVP, you can separate your messaging from your competitors’ and attract the right talent for your organization.

When organizations hire, develop, and promote employees based on values-based competencies, employee satisfaction and retention improve. This workshop helps executives select their organization-wide competencies. We begin by reviewing the organization’s values and end with a defined list of competencies, interview guides, and deployment plans.

According to Gallup, 75% of U.S. workers have quit a job because of their manager. Yet, only 30% of U.S. workers have the propensity (with training and coaching) to be effective managers. This workshop tackles the reasons organizations face challenges with managers and helps participants build manager selection programs that improve retention.
